Morning, Jan 6

Good morning. We’ve been at Green Turtle Bay Marina for 3 days, a combination of rest and repairs. The mount for the alternator was found broken so that went to the onsite mechanic shop to be welded. Repair made. Restocked food. We also had the great pleasure of dining at Pattie’s 1880 Settlement.

Today we start, finally, on the Tennessee River which flows north so we will be sailing against the current. Once I see how that effects our speed I can calculate our anticipated distance. Fortunately, there are more marinas from here to Moblie, Al which means less anchoring out….launching the dinghy…taking the pups to a muddy shore…and then all of that in reverse.

I’ll try to fill in the days since our last posting. Very exciting stuff. Bomb cyclone.
Repairs. Anchoring out. Navigating eddies around a “federal mooring cell”. Fog…lots of fog.
